Dr. Chukmol Kossama is a distinguished ophthalmologist with extensive training and experience in her field. She graduated as an ophthalmologist from the University of Health Sciences in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in 2012. She advanced her expertise in Glaucoma, completing her fellowship training in Thailand in 2018. She also holds a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the University of Health Sciences, and recently completed her fellowship training in Neuroophthalmology through the Sight for All.
Currently, Dr. Kossama serves as the Deputy Director of Preah Ang Duong Hospital and the President of the Cambodian Ophthalmological Society. She also holds other several key positions, including Head of the Glaucoma Fellowship Training Program and Head of Ophthalmology department at the same hospital.
Her dedication to education is evident in her role as an Ophthalmology lecturer at the University of Health Sciences and assists as a Co-Lecturer in the Ophthalmology Resident Training Program, working alongside both local and foreign lecturers. Her contributions to the field of ophthalmology and her commitment to training the next generation of specialists are highly regarded in the medical community.
She has been honored with numerous awards throughout her career. These include the prestigious Kim Frumar Scholarship Award, the Outstanding Service Award, and the Eye Health Research Award from the University of Health Sciences. Her dedication to excellence and significant contributions to the field have also earned her an Australian Award Fellowship.
