Asian Angle-Closure Glaucoma Club

Angle-closure glaucoma is prevalent in Asia and it is estimated that a half of the glaucoma patients might have primary angle-closure glaucoma. Racial differences seem to play a major role in the pathogenesis, classification, and management of primary angle-closure glaucoma. However, there had been a paucity of scientific works for PACG in the Asian viewpoint. Fortunately, with the efforts of many Asian researchers new clinical and scientific knowledge have been expanded.

The aim of the Asian Angle-Closure Glaucoma Club (AACGC), the umbrella society of Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Society, is to establish a scientific network for the Asian glaucomatologists who are interested in angle-closure glaucoma in exchange of knowledge about angle-closure glaucoma. We can set a proper classification, definition, and treatment scheme for angle-closure glaucoma for Asians and for the whole world as well.
